University, Mt. Spokane stay alive at American Legion AA baseball tournament

Kyle Douglas drove in two runs Tuesday to help the University Titans to an 8-6 win over the Burlington Sox in American Legion State AA baseball championship play at Shadle Park’s Al K. Jackson Field.

U-Hi will meet the Kennewick Phantoms at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson Field. U-Hi, Kennewick and Burlington are all 3-1 at the double-elimination tourney.

In play at Gonzaga Prep, Mt. Spokane stayed alive with a 10-3 win that eliminated the Wenatchee Blues.

Mt. Spokane will meet Ridge Baseball at 1 p.m. Wednesday at G-Prep. Mt. Spokane, Ridge and the Yakima Valley Peppers are all 3-1 at the tourney.

  • Pepsi Pak of Selah defeated the Northstars 14-1, knocking the Spokane team from the American Legion State AAA championship at WF West High School in Chehalis.
