Police arrest father accused of sexually assaulting stepchild

The Spokane Police Department arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting his stepchild Friday afternoon in North Spokane.
Officers arrested James Reinert, 29, after the department received a report that the stepfather had assaulted a 12-year-old child. Detectives filed a warrant to search a residence for evidence and arrested him later in the day. Police are recommending second-degree rape charges.
