From staff reports

A rock slide forced the closure of westbound Interstate 90 at the Fourth of July Pass Thursday morning.

The slide was reported just after 10 a.m. on the east side of the pass east of state Highway 3, said Idaho State Police Patrol Lt. Chris Schenck. No damage was reported to any vehicles.

The slide originally blocked the two westbound lanes.

After clearing one lane, the Idaho Transportation Department was preparing to open one lane, Schenck said at 11:45 a.m. But traffic was expected to be reduced to one lane for at least 24 hours, Schenck said.
