North Idaho teacher arrested on child porn-related charges

A teacher from the Plummer-Worley School District was charged Friday with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Jeremy R. Campbell, 35, is accused of having over 60 videos and photos of child pornography on his personal computer, according to the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Campbell was arrested at his Coeur d’Alene home on Thursday, located about 150 feet from Borah Elementary School. Judge Mayli Walsh set the man’s bond at $350,000.

Campbell teaches eighth grade at Lakeside Jr./Sr. High School in Plummer. He formerly taught at Fernan Elementary in Coeur d’Alene and John Brown Elementary in Rathdrum, according to his Facebook page.

He was hired by the Plummer-Worley School District in 2017, according to the Idaho State Board of Education.

“The district is taking the matter very seriously and following all appropriate protocols,” Plummer-Worley School District Superintendent Judi Sharrett said. “Because this matter involves both an ongoing criminal investigation, as well as a personnel matter, I am not at liberty to provide any further information at this time.”

Campbell has no prior criminal history, according to the Idaho Repository.
