FBI looking for suspected robber that prompted school lockdown in Coeur d’Alene

UPDATED: Mon., March 12, 2018

The Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy went into a brief lockdown Monday at the request of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department as officers investigated a reported credit union robbery at about 9:45 a.m.

The reported robbery involving one suspect occurred at the Spokane Teachers Credit Union branch located near Appleway Avenue and Ramsey Road. STCU spokeswoman Barb Richey said bank officials are working with the Coeur d’Alene office of the FBI.

“No one was hurt,” Richey said. “The team is doing well.”

A photograph of the robber released by the FBI on Monday afternoon shows a young white man or woman wearing a dark blue jacket, light-colored scarf, black knit cap, red gloves, dark pants and colorful shoes or boots. The person appears to have a beauty mark or mole on the left cheek.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the FBI’s Coeur d’Alene office at (208) 664-5128.
