Gonzaga baseball’s Daniel Bies was named the Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week for his standout performance in a win over Pepperdine, league officials announced on Monday.

The right-handed Bies shut down Pepperdine on Friday night, getting the 1-0 win with an eight-inning, 13 strikeout performance. His 13 strikeouts blew away his previous career-high of eight, which was set earlier this season. Against Pepperdine, he gave up just three hits and walked two batters.
