Softball roundup: Kelsey Gumm strikes out 13, drives in three runs, Central Valley clinches share of GSL

Kelsey Gumm tallied 13 strikeouts and drove in three runs and Central Valley (17-0, 16-0) defeated visiting Ferris (1-16, 1-15) 10-0 on Tuesday to secure themselves at least a share of the Greater Spokane League title.

Mt. Spokane 8, University 2: Katie McKinnis went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs and the Wildcats (15-3, 14-2) beat the Titans (12-6, 12-4). Kaitly Zemke went 3 for 4 with and RBI and a double for Mt. Spokane and Emily Stannard went 3 for 3 for University.

Rogers 7, Lewis and Clark 5: Gracie Olsen had three hits including a home run with two RBIs and the Pirates (8-10, 7-9) overcame the visiting Tigers (8-10, 7-9).

Gonzaga Prep 11, Mead 4: Maddy DeMarco and Emma Pappas drove in three runs apiece and the visiting Bullpups (6-10, 7-11) defeated the Panthers (9-9, 9-7).

Shadle Park 12, North Central 6: Ariel Hall hit a two-run home run and the Highlanders (6-11, 6-10) beat the Indians (2-16, 2-14). Paula Pintler hit a two-run home run for North Central and M’Kayla Husk went 3 for 4 for Shadle Park.

Great Northern League

West Valley 18, Pullman 2: Jillian Taylor notched two hits, two runs scored, three stolen bases and six RBIs and the Eagles (15-2, 8-1) downed the visiting Greyhounds (1-17, 0-10).

East Valley 14, Clarkston 8: Madrona Beitz and Emma Todhunter each slugged home runs and drove in four runs apiece and the Knights (8-8, 7-4) defeated the visiting Bantams (2-12, 1-8).

Northeast A

Chewelah 15, Riverside 4: Larissa Sweat drilled a home run and the Cougars (15-0, 9-0) defeated the visiting Rams (1-7, 1-6).

Deer Park 2, Lakeside 0: Payton Erickson launched a two-run shot in the top of the seventh and the visiting Stags (9-4, 6-2) defeated the Eagles (10-6, 7-3).

Freeman 4, Colville 3: Lexi Johnson singled and homered, scoring twice, and the visiting Scotties (6-7, 4-6) held off the Indians (8-6, 5-5).

Medical Lake 19, Newport 0: Ashley Allison drove in four runs and the visiting Cardinals (5-9, 3-7) defeated the Grizzlies (1-7, 0-6).

Notheast 2B

Davenport 4, Wilbur-Creston 2 (Gm 1): Amber Anderson stroked three hits and the visiting Gorillas (5-8, 5-4) stopped the Wildcats (3-12, 0-7).

Davenport 9, Wilbur-Creston 0 (Gm 2): Sydney Zeiler tossed a six-hit shutout, striking out eight, and added three hits for three RBIs and the visiting Gorillas (6-8, 6-4) blanked the Wildcats (3-13, 0-8).

Northeast 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 10, Northport 0 (Gm 1): Tiffany Boutain had two RBIs and a double and the Warriors (15-0, 9-0) beat the visiting Mustangs (8-4, 4-3). Sydney Cook went 2 for 3 with three RBIs for ACH.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 12, Northport 8 (Gm 2): Blair Jensen went 2 for 5 with two RBIs and a triple and the Mustangs (9-4, 5-3) beat the Warriors (15-1, 9-1). Mikayla Rushton hit a triple for ACH.

5A Inland Empire League

Lake City 7, Coeur d’Alene 2 (Gm 1): Reilley Chapman drove in a pair of runs on three hits and the Timberwolves (17-3, 10-1) defeated the visiting Vikings (7-14, 5-8).

Coeur d’Alene 7, Lake City 6 (Gm 2): Hailey Lyons drove in two runs on a two hits and the visiting Vikings (8-14, 6-8) defeated the Timberwolves (17-4, 10-2).

Post Falls 9, Lewiston 8 (Gm 1): Kyndra Hans homered and scored three runs with four RBIs and the visiting Trojans (10-10, 4-7) edged the Bengals (12-7, 5-6).

Lewiston 5, Post Falls 3 (Gm 2): Madelynn Skinner had three hits including a triple and the Bengals (13-7, 6-6) downed the visiting Trojans (10-11, 4-8).

Idaho nonleague

St. Maries: 9, Kendrick 3: Lauryn Hill drove in three runs and the Lumberjacks (10-0, 5-0) defeated the visiting Tigers (7-7, 8-6).
