Man dies after fishing boat capsizes off Cape Flattery

Associated Press

PORT ANGELES, Wash. – The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said a 58-year-old Sequim man died after a fishing boat capsized off Cape Flattery in the Pacific Ocean.

KOMO-TV reported that three people were in the non-commercial fishing boat Friday afternoon near Tattoosh Island when a wave hit the vessel.

The wave pushed the boat against the rocks, and it flooded.

Crews in other boats nearby rescued two of the fishermen. The sheriff’s office said a third fisherman, identified as Jay Radtke, was found unresponsive in the water.

CPR was performed on Radtke as the Coast Guard took all three to Neah Bay. But he was pronounced dead.
