Prep golf: Colfax boys, St. George’s girls win District 7 small-school golf titles
The Colfax boys and St. George’s girls won District 7 1B/2B/1A golf titles as play concluded Monday in Chewelah.
The first round was played last week in Deer Park. Both rounds were added to determine team and individual scores.
Colfax won the boys championship with 111 points, well ahead of Wilbur-Creston’s 49. Chance Weitze of Colfax won the individual title with a two-round total of 150. Second place went to Dawson Strobel of Tekoa-Rosalia at 152 and Augie Allenbach of Colfax was third at 153.
Kaysa Panke of Davenport won the girls individual title with a score of 150, 21 points ahead of Wilbur-Creston’s Alecia Johnson. St. George’s was the team champion, with Freeman second.
The boys and girls 1B/2B/1A state tournaments are next week at Hangman Valley.
Idaho 3A state golf: Kellogg’s boys were in second place, one stroke behind Fruitland after the first round at Twin Lakes Village Golf Club. Timberlake was in eighth place.
In the girls tournament, also at Twin Lakes, Kellogg was in third place and Timberlake fourth after one round.
Results from other state tournaments were not available.
