Prep softball playoffs: East Valley advances to state with crossover win

East Valley 13, Ephrata 3: Emma Todhunter went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and the Knights (13-10) eliminated the Tigers in a 2A GNL/CWAC crossover. East Valley advances to the state tournament next weekend.

Madrona Beitz slugged a three-run home run for East Valley, while Abby Brake scattered three runs with no walks over six innings.

Selah 7, West Valley 5: Taryn Matthews tripled to drive in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth and the Vikings eliminated the Eagles (17-6). West Valley’s Lilly Arch went 3 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs and Maddi Thompson had four hits with a run and an RBI.

Chewelah 11, Chelan 0: Jaelynn Skok pitched a perfect game with six strikeouts and the Cougars (21-2) defeated the Mountain Goats to claim a bid to the state tournament. Bailey Smith went 3 for 3 on the day and scored two runs.

Lakeside (WA) 8, Okanogan 0: Shelby Claassen struck out 19 and retired 20 of 21 batters in a one-hitter and the Eagles (16-6) eliminated the Bulldogs to qualify for state. Olivia Charbonneau slugged a solo home run and finished 3 for 4.
