CMR delivers for NW farmers

Donald Lamp claims that Cathy McMorris Rodgers is afraid to offend Trump supporters over trade issues (May 15, 2018). He pretends to be concerned about Republican views on the importance of free trade. I don’t believe he cares as much about free trade as he does about criticizing Cathy in order to have an effect on the 5th District race for Congress.

CMR is a smart, principled and independent representative of Eastern Washington who cares deeply about the state of farming in the Pacific Northwest. She appreciates the president’s ability to negotiate for our benefit but she certainly does not kowtow to anyone as she represents the interests of her constituents.

The same day Mr. Lamp’s letter appeared in The Spokesman-Review, the Wall Street Journal ran an article about the U.S. and China closing in on a deal to give China’s ZTE Corp. a reprieve from crippling U.S. sanctions in exchange for China removing tariffs on billions of dollars of U.S. agricultural products. I believe this is an example of Cathy McMorris Rodgers delivering for Northwest farmers!
