Police: Student stabbed at junior high school in Fife
FIFE, Wash. – Authorities say a student was injured at a junior high school in the Tacoma suburb of Fife when another student stabbed him in the neck and side.
Fife Police Department Assistant Chief Dave Woods said officers were called to Columbia Junior High at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for a stabbing.
Woods said a 15-year-old victim with stab wounds was taken to a local hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Woods said shortly after arriving officers detained a 15-year-old suspect with a knife.
The school was temporarily on lockdown while detectives confirmed all weapons were recovered and that no one else was involved.
Woods said preliminary investigation shows the boys had an ongoing dispute.
The suspect was booked on investigation of assault.
