Trauma of separating families

Separating children from their parents as they cross our southern border - I am absolutely aghast that the Republican administration has instituted such an incredibly cruel policy with the explicit goal of ending immigrant and refugee flows into the USA from the south.

The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that since October 2017 approximately 700 children - 100 of them under age 4 - have been separated from their parents and placed in institutions far from parental contact. Attorney Jeff Sessions has confirmed this and adamantly stated that the practice will continue.

This is outright child abuse! Traumatizing innocent children for the purpose of achieving a policy goal is beyond cruel, I would designate it as criminal.

I ask that every person who reads this letter contact Congress and the attorney general demanding that this incredibly cruel practice end and that the children who have been so cruelly treated be returned to their parents. Demanding counseling for psychological trauma would also be in order.
