Morgan Weaver scored three goals as the Washington State women’s soccer team defeated rival Washington 3-1 Friday night in the regular-season finale in Pullman.

The Cougars (12-5-1, 5-5-1 Pac-12) extended their unbeaten streak against the Huskies (8-10-1, 3-8-0) to 15 matches despite playing the final 17:15 shorthanded after Makamae Gomera-Stevens was issued a red card.

Weaver, the reigning conference player of the week, scored in the 11th minute off a pass from Hanna Goff. Weaver added an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to make it 2-0.

Washington’s Pascale Dumesnil scored on a shot from outside the penalty area just more than a minute later.

Weaver closed the scoring in the 88th minute with her career-best 12th of the season.

WSU’s Rachel Thompson, who was named the conference’s goalkeeper of the week, was forced to make just one save.

Northern Colorado scored twice in a 20-second span midway through the first half to defeat Idaho 3-0 in the Big Sky Conference semifinals in Ogden, Utah.

The Vandals finished 9-7-3 under Jeremy Clevenger, the most victories for a first-year coach in program history.

Volleyball

Katie Smoot had 22 kills as No. 21 Arizona defeated No. 18 Washington State in five sets, 23-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 15-12, in Pullman.

Julia Patterson had a match-high 58 assists for the Wildcats (18-7, 7-6 Pac-12).

McKenna Woodford led the Cougars (17-6, 8-5) with 22 kills and a .413 hitting percentage. Teammate Ashley Brown had 49 assists and Alexis Dirige added a match-high 23 digs.

Men’s basketball

Sayeed Pridgett scored 17 points to lead a balanced attack as Montana defeated visiting Whitworth 90-58 in Missoula, Montana.

Five Grizzlies scored in double digits in the exhibition.

Ben College led cold-shooting Whitworth with 12 points. Jared Christy added six points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Pirates shot 35 percent from the field (21 of 60) and were just 3 of 20 from 3-point range.

David Shedrick scored a game-high 17 points, making five 3-pointers, as Lewis-Clark State upset host Idaho 65-59 in an exhibition.

Trevon Allen led the Vandals with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Women’s basketball

Mikayla Ferenz scored 25 points as Idaho defeated visiting Lewis-Clark State 97-55 in an exhibition.

Nina Carlson (Lake City) and Haley Blankinship each scored 12 points and Isabelle Hadden and Gina Marxen added 10 apiece for the Vandals, who open the regular season Tuesday when they play host to Cal State-Northridge. Natalie Klinker led UI with 14 rebounds.
