Morning roundup: Kaitlin Harvey scores three goals, East Valley defeats Ephrata, advances to state

Kaitlin Harvey’s hat trick powered East Valley (13-3-1) over visiting Ephrata (14-4-0) 4-2 in a GNL/CWAC 2A crossover contest.

Ellensburg 3, Cheney 2: Gabby Nguyen scored a goal and added an assist, but the visiting Blackhawks (11-8) lost to the Bulldogs (9-1) in overtime in a GNL/CWAC 2A crossover.

Lakeside (WA) cruised to a 5-0 victory over Cascade (Leavenworth) in a NEA-CTL crossover.

Freeman 1, Cashmere 0: Hannah Pylant made 15 saves and the visiting Scotties (13-6-0) eliminated the Bulldogs (11-6-0) in a NEA-CTL crossover.

Volleyball

Richland 3, Mead 1: Emily Hutchinson had 10 kills with two blocks, but the Panthers lost to the Bombers in four sets (25-16, 25-14, 24-26, 25-16) in the District 8 4A semifinal. Mead plays Walla Walla in a loser-out on Nov. 10.

University beat Hanford 3-0 in a District 8 4A loser-out match. Lewis and Clark fell 3-0 to Walla Walla in the other loser-out match.

In GNL-CWAC 2A crossover action, Pullman defeated Selah 3-0 and East Valley lost 3-0 to Prosser.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 3, Selkirk 0: Makenna Oliver had 18 assists and the Warriors beat the Rangers in the District 7 1B championship at NW Christian HS. ACH and Selkirk both advance to the 1B State tournament in Yakima.

Pomeroy 3, Odessa 0: Sydney Smith had 13 assists and two aces and the Pirates eliminated the Tigers at NW Christian HS in a District 7-District 9 1B crossover. Pomeroy advances to the 1B State tournament in Yakima on Nov. 8-9.
