South Hill assisted-living facility purchased by Oregon company

From staff reports

Brookdale Senior Living’s South Hill facility in Spokane has been purchased by Avamere Family of Companies, headquartered in Wilsonville, Oregon.

The 79-unit assisted-living facility was renamed Avamere at South Hill. The new owners will continue to employ 43 local employees, including Executive Director Judi Jackson-Standish, according to a news release. Avamere also plans to embark on a multimillion dollar remodel of the facility at 3708 E. 57th Ave., which should be mostly finished by the end of 2019.

“We are excited to finally enter the Spokane region,” said Ryan Haller, Avamere’s chief development officer. “We’ve been looking at opportunities here for a few years.”

The South Hill facility is among six acquired by Avamere in the purchase, including similar operations in Yakima and Moses Lake.
