Police arrest man downtown after reports of gunshots

A man was arrested Monday night after multiple people reported a drive-by shooting in the area of Sprague Avenue and Browne Street in downtown Spokane.

Bobby M. Nathaniel, 41, was taken into custody at about 10 p.m. in connection with the incident. According to a news release from Spokane police, Nathaniel is not only alleged to have been driving while intoxicated, but was also firing a handgun from an SUV with two other people inside.

Police reportedly found the handgun in the SUV, in addition to shell casings.

There were no injuries reported.
