EVERETT – Riley Woods completed a hat trick with a goal in overtime to give the Spokane Chiefs 3-2 victory over the division-leading Everett Silvertips on Sunday.
Woods scored his 18th goal of the season 2:27 into overtime. He gave the Chiefs a 2-0 lead in the first period with a pair of power-play goals.
Everett got a power-play goal from Wyatte Wylie in the first period and tied it on Dawson Butt’s score in the second.
Ty Smith had two assists for Spokane and Nolan Reid, Ethan McIndoe and Eli Zummack had one apiece.
Bailey Brkin made 38 saves in goal for the Chiefs with Everett holding a 40-27 advantage on shots on goal.
It was Woods’ second game-winning score at Everett, having beaten the Silvertips with a shootout goal two years ago. The hat trick was the second for Woods as a Chief.
