Burning semi truck on I-5 causing traffic backups in Lakewood

A semi truck hauling produce caught fire on northbound Interstate 5 near state Route 512 in Lakewood, blocking several lanes and slowing traffic.

The blaze was reported just after 10 a.m. near South Tacoma Way.

West Pierce firefighters are on scene.

The three right lanes are blocked, according to the state Department of Transportation.
