DENNY CREEK, Wash. – Authorities have closed Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass because of vehicles spinouts in snowy conditions.
Washington Department of Transportation officials said eastbound I-90 was closed at about 5:40 p.m. Friday at milepost 47 near Denny Creek.
There was no estimated time for reopening.
Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said on Twitter that chains were required on all vehicles traveling west on Snoqualmie Pass except for those with all-wheel drive.
He says chains also were required for those traveling at Stevens Pass on U.S. Route 2 with the same exception for all-wheel drive vehicles.
