Girls basketball: Balanced East Valley downs Freeman in season opener

East Valley 48, Freeman 36: Holy Flynn scored 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the free throw line, Faith Adams added 10 points and the Knights beat the visiting Scotties in a nonleague season opener on Tuesday. Bradee Parisotto paced Freeman with 13 points.

Deer Park 61, Kettle Falls 26: Taylor Lyons scored 13 points and the Stags (1-0) cruised past the visiting Bulldogs (0-1) in a nonleague opener.

Colville 50, Reardan 44: McKenna Reggear scored a game-high 25 points and visiting Colville beat Reardan. Hallie Cox added 12 points for Colville while Kim Dewey led Reardan with 17 points.

Davenport 44, Springdale 14: Haley Greenwood scored 15 points, Milei Floyd added 10 and the visiting Gorillas handled the Chargers in the opener for both teams.

Idaho

Kellogg 52, Sandpoint 36: Hailey Cheney scored 18 points, Jaron Figeroa added 17 and the Wildcats downed the visiting Bulldogs.

St. Maries 54, Priest River 35: Madison Cordell and Alena Davenport scored 14 points apiece and the visiting Lumberjacks downed the Spartans. Kaci Haeg added 11 points for St. Maries.
