Area roundup: Chanelle Molina leads Washington State women to rout of San Francisco

Chanelle Molina scored 28 points and dished out seven assists, and Washington State defeated San Francisco 91-61 in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup Thursday in Pullman.

Molina made 11 of 16 shots from the floor and went 4 for 5 from beyond the 3-point line.

Borislava Hristova tacked on 20 points and six rebounds for the Cougars (3-4), who set a school record for points in a quarter with 34 in the second.

Jovana Subasic contributed 10 points and a game-best seven rebounds for WSU.

Julia Nielacna notched 21 points and Marta Galic scored 14 for the Dons (2-4), who have lost three straight.

CC Spokane 78, Gonzaga Club 49: Jessica Olson tallied 21 points, and the Sasquatch routed Gonzaga Club at Spokane Falls CC.

Koyama Young added 18 points for CCS (2-0). Alexia Novelli chipped in 10 points and a game-high six rebounds, while Rose Mongoyak also scored 10.

Kehau Gilliland led Gonzaga Club with 11 points.

Men’s basketball

Nate Pryor scored 19 points, and North Idaho surged past Shoreline 111-83 in the first game of the Coeur d’Alene Inn-vitational.

RayQuan Evans netted 18 points and added 11 rebounds and eight assists. Emmitt Taylor also scored 18 and Alphonso Anderson tallied 16 points for NIC (4-0).

Tavier Tinnin led all scorers with 23 points for Shoreline (0-4), while Anjaylo Lloyd chipped in 18 points.
