Everett rallies, knocks off Spokane 5-4 in OT

From staff reports

EVERETT – Connor Dewar scored on a breakaway in overtime, and the Everett Silvertips overcame a 3-1 third-period deficit Friday to beat the Spokane Chiefs 5-4 in Western Hockey League play.

The Chiefs (14-8-2-2, 32 points) built their lead thanks to power-play goals from Eli Zummack, Luc Smith and Filip Kral. Smith’s goal was his first for the team in his second game since being acquired in a trade from Kamloops.

Everett (21-7-1-0, 43) surged in front with three goals in a 7-minute stretch in the third, but Ethan McIndoe forced overtime by tipping in Ty Smith’s shot with 15 seconds left.

Ty Smith and Riley Woods had two assists apiece for Spokane.
