County hosting public budget meeting on parks and roads

The Spokane County Board of Commissioners is holding the second of three community roundtable meetings on Oct. 9 to gather public input for the 2019 Spokane County budget.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the commissioners’ hearing room on the bottom floor of the Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway Avenue.

The meeting will focus on county parks, roads and public utilities with a 2018 budgetary review and an outlook for next year. The public will have an opportunity to provide input.

The first roundtable meeting was held Sept. 18 and focused on how the county administers property assessments and taxes. A third and final meeting on Oct. 16 will cover the public safety budget.

The roundtable meetings, which will be recorded and shared on the Spokane County website and YouTube channel, are part of the county’s effort to provide transparency in the development process of the annual Spokane County budget.
