STANFORD, Calif. – Kathryn Plummer powered for 16 kills Friday as No. 2 Stanford protected its lead in Pac-12 volleyball with a 25-15, 30-28, 25-12 sweep of No. 21 Washington State.

Jenna Gray added 39 assists and Morgan Hentz 20 digs for the Cardinal (15-1, 7-0).

Taylor Mims totaled 12 kills for the Cougars (13-4, 4-3), who entered the night in a four-way tie for second place.

WSU was riding a four-match winning streak.

The Cougars served for the win in the second set, but Plummer’s kill tied the set at 24.

The set was also tied at 25, 26, 27 and 28 until two Plummer kills sealed it for the Cardinal.
