Comcast expands gigabit service in Spokane area

Comcast has expanded its gigabit broadband service locally, and the company says it’s now offering the faster internet service throughout Spokane an Stevens counties.

The connection offers one gigabit per second. The service is about 100 times faster than the average broadband service, according to Comcast.

A typical customer can be connected to 50 to 60 internet devices with a gigabit connection, using multiple televisions, gaming platforms, internet-connected speakers at the same time, according to Comcast. The service costs about $105 per month, without promotional discounts.

The company offers gigabit service in nearly 180 communities across Washington, officials said.
