College volleyball: No. 19 Washington State sweeps Utah on the road

SALT LAKE CITY – McKenna Woodford tallied a match-high 17 kills to go with five blocks and Penny Tusa added 15 kills to propel the 19th-ranked Washington State Cougars to a 25-23, 25-18, 25-21 sweep over the Utah Utes in Pac-12 Conference volleyball on Wednesday.
Ashley Brown finished with 35 assists for the Cougars (16-5, 7-4), who pulled within one-half of Southern Cal for second place in the conference.
Tusa and Alexis Dirige paced Washington State with 14 digs, while Ashley Brown chipped in 11.
Kenzie Koerber led the Utes (12-10, 4-7) with 12 kills and a match-high six blocks.
Next up for the Cougars is a match at Colorado on Friday.
