Preps cross country: Lewis and Clark boys and girls sweep 4A district titles

Will Smith won the boys individual title and led Lewis and Clark to the team title at the District 8 championships at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Richland on Saturday.

Ila Davis won the girls race and Naomi Butler finished second to lift LC to the girls team title.

Ferris finished third, Central Valley was fifth, Mead placed sixth, Gonzaga Prep was eighth and University finished 11th.

Erinn Hill placed first ahead of teammate Allie Janke and North Central ran away with the girls team title at the District 8 championships at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Richland on Saturday.

Mt. Spokane finished fourth, Rogers seventh and Shadle Park eighth.

In the boys race, Kamiakin swept the first five spots but Leif Swanson took sixth to lead North Central to a second-place finish.

Rogers finished third, Mt. Spokane took fourth and Shadle Park eighth.

Eliason Kabasenche and Roman Romanyuk finished 1-2 to lead Pullman to the boys team title at the Great Northern League/Central Washington Athletic Conference crossover at Apple Ridge in Ellensburg.

Giovanni Raskell and Kolby Green placed sixth and seventh to help West Valley finish fourth.

Kylie Franklin placed fourth to lift Pullman to the girls title.

Sadie Langford took sixth to help West Valley to finish in second place.

2B/1B

Gavin Merritt of Tekoa-Rosalia took individual honors and Asotin took home the boys team trophy at the 2B/1B regional at Harrington Golf Course.

Mya Edwards of Kettle Falls won the girls race and Asotin won the team title at the girls regional.
