94-year-old man a suspect in the fatal shooting of grandson

EVERETT – A 94-year-old Everett man is a suspect in his grandson’s fatal shooting.

Everett police said in a statement Monday that detectives continue to investigate the shooting death of a man in his 40s that occurred Sunday.

After the shooting, the 94 year-old suspect was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett where he remains due to mental health concerns.

Criminal charges will be referred to the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office for review and charges, if any.

Police confirmed that the suspect and victim are related as grandfather and grandson.

Police didn’t know the motive for the shooting.
