College volleyball: Whitworth rallies to remain undefeated in Northwest Conference play

Jessica Schmautz finished with a match-high 19 kills, and Erin White added 45 assists, 13 digs and five aces Friday as visiting Whitworth rallied for a 3-2 win over George Fox in Northwest Conference volleyball in Newberg, Oregon.

The Pirates (9-4, 3-0) won the fourth game 25-17 and scored the final two points of the fifth game for a 15-13 win.

Emiko Kahler had 12 kills, Addy Woolery 21 digs and Madison Douglas six blocks for the Pirates.

Danyle Dupray led the Bruins (6-5, 0-3) with 16 kills and 14 digs.

  • Mariah Moulton and Faith McQueen combined for 29 kills to lead Blue Mountain (16-4, 3-0 Northwest Athletic Conference) to a 3-2 win at North Idaho (14-7, 2-1). The Timberwolves captured the fourth game 25-15 and the clincher 15-13 to run their winning streak to six. Blue Mountain will play at undefeated Community Colleges of Spokane on Saturday. Hailee Etter had 18 kills and four aces for the Cardinals, and Kayla Neumann added 17 kills and 10 digs. Haylee Templeton added 51 assists and four aces for NIC, which had won six straight.
