Noah Cyrus may have shed some tears over her breakup, but don’t fall for this prank
Hold up.
Before you fall for this one: Whatever you do, don’t buy tears from Noah Cyrus.
On Thursday, Miley Cyrus’s younger sister claimed she was peddling her tears after an extremely painful breakup from rapper Lil Xan. He reportedly cheated on the pop singer.
They are being “sold” in a dropper for $12,000 for 48 hours on a site called PIzzaSlime.
“This is approximately 12 tears made by Noah Cyrus as a result of sadness,” the site’s description reads of the vial. “Human digestion of these tears is not suggested cause tears are generally pretty salty and that would just be super f-ing weird if you drank someone else’s tears.”
Before you rush out to click on this collectible item, know that it is all a marketing ploy to plug the 18 year old’s her new EP, duly named “Good Cry,” which dropped this week. She is currently on her first U.S. headlining tour, appropriately named “The Good Cry Tour,” which is hitting the Revolution Live on Saturday, in Fort Lauderdale.
If you see the “Stay Together” crooner throwing out liquids to the audience, don’t fall for it.
Yep, the whole thing was a joke, TMZ reports.
The gossip site adds that the prank got a little out of control after a fan named “Sad Cyrus” put a post on GoFundMe, saying he/she needed financial assistance to buy a bottle.
Cyrus’ team told TMZ that they are contacting GoFundMe, asking that the post be taken down and they will reimburse anyone who donated.
As of late Friday morning, more than $1,200 had been raised for the fake tears.
