Four taken to hospital after crash at Half Moon Road and U.S. Highway 395

From staff reports

Four people were injured Monday evening in a crash at Half Moon Road and U.S. Highway 395.

Loon Lake resident Frank J. Ascolese, 71, was driving a 2011 Subaru Outback west on Half Moon Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign at U.S. 395, the Washington State Patrol reported. A northbound Subaru Forester driven by Deer Park resident Fiona K. Hill-Dearing, 21, struck the Outback at about 6:45 p.m.

Ascolese was cited for failing to yield, WSP said. He and his passenger, Anita Ascolese, 70, were transported to Providence Sacred Heart. He was under evaluation Tuesday morning. Anita Ascolese was treated and released.

Hill-Dearing and her passenger, Deer Park resident Kathryn A. Hill, 81, also were taken to Sacred Heart. Hill-Dearing was treated and released and Hill was in satisfactory condition Tuesday morning.

All drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, WSP said.
