Gonzaga is one of seven programs listed as possible destinations for South Dakota State’s David Jenkins Jr.

Jenkins, who averaged 19.7 points as a sophomore last season, told multiple media outlets he’s interested in GU, UNLV, Oregon, UCLA, Memphis, Washington State and South Dakota State.

UNLV hired South Dakota State coach T.J. Otzelberger a few weeks ago. Jenkins announced 10 days ago he had obtained a release, but didn’t rule out returning to South Dakota State. Jenkins said it was in his best interest to reopen his recruitment and plans to select the program “that will give me the best opportunity to achieve my dreams.”

Jenkins, who is from Tacoma, earned first-team All-Summit League honors last year after hitting a school-record 112 3-pointers. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 16.1 points as a freshman. He has scored 1,194 career points.

The shooting guard averaged 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists, sixth on the team. Jenkins made 45.3 percent of his 3-point attempts and nearly 80 percent at the free-throw line.
