Colville Police arrested a minor on Friday for allegedly bringing a stolen gun to a middle school.
The Statesman-Examiner reported that a student at Colville Junior High School heard about the gun and reported it. Authorities recovered the gun without incident, according to the article.
In an email to parents of students at the school, Colville School District Superintendent Pete Lewis wrote that “there was no specific threat other than the weapon itself.”
Police are investigating the incident, Lewis wrote.
The suspect, who was not named, is being charged with alleged theft of a gun, bringing a gun to school and being in possession of a gun while a minor, according to the Statesman-Examiner.
