Prep softball: Emily Stannard’s big day helps University down Mt. Spokane

Greater Spokane League

University 11, Mt. Spokane 1: Emily Stannard went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and the Titans (8-1) beat the visiting Wildcats (6-1) on Tuesday. Ashton Cathey went 2 for 3 with an RBI for Mt. Spokane.

Mead 12, Gonzaga Prep 4: Bailey Wilkins went 3 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, Amanda Grimes threw a complete game and had a single, a triple and an RBI and the Panthers (5-4) beat the visiting Bullpups (3-6) on Tuesday. Maddi Murphy went 3 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI for Gonzaga Prep.

Central Valley 26, North Central 0: Suheyla Tanak and Grace Stumbough had four RBIs apiece, Julia Andrews went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs and the visiting Bears (7-2) beat the Indians (0-7).

Ferris 15, Rogers 4: Katelyn Strauss went 3 for 3 with three runs and five RBIs while striking out nine in 3 2/3 innings of relief and the visiting Saxons (3-6) beat the Pirates (0-7) on Tuesday. Taylor White went 2 for 2 with three RBIs for Ferris.

Shadle Park 3, Lewis and Clark 0: Chloe Flerchinger struck out 11 in a complete-game four-hitter and the Highlanders (5-2) shut out the visiting Tigers (4-5) on Tuesday. Ariel Hall went 2 for 3 with a double and drove in a run for Shadle Park.

Great Northern League

West Valley 19, Cheney 9: Trinity Moore had a grand slam while Maddi Thompson drove in three runs on four hits to lift the visiting Eagles (5-0) over the Blackhawks (3-4). Bella King went 3 for 4 with an RBI for Cheney.

Pullman 11, Clarkston 4: Hallie McDougal had a double and triple among four hits and the Greyhounds (1-3) beat the visiting Bantams (1-3) on Tuesday. Mikayla Hill homered for Clarkston.

Northeast A

Deer Park 16, Riverside 0: Morgan Erickson had seven strikeouts in a three-inning complete game, Jessica Eide and Leilani Sungalu each hit a home run and the Stags (7-2) beat the visiting Rams (1-8) on Tuesday.

Colville at Medical Lake: Ambrie Jones struck out 13 in a complete-game two-hitter and the visiting Indians (6-3) defeated the Cardinals (3-5) on Tuesday. Suzanne Shores had 11 strikeouts for Medical Lake.

Freeman 14, Newport 0: Abbie Amend threw a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and the visiting Scotties (5-4) beat the Grizzlies (0-8). Bradee Parisotto went 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Freeman.

Lakeside 4, Chewelah 3: Megan Isayev drove in the walk-off run in extras and the Eagles (9-0) downed the visiting Cougars (6-3) in the first game of a double header .

Chewelah 7, Lakeside 3: Leah Carpenter went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and the visiting Cougars (7-3) defeated the Eagles (9-1) in the second game. Jay Christensen added three hits in three at bats for Lakeside.

Northeast 2B

Liberty 7, Kettle Falls 5 (9): Jaidyn Stephens struck out 14 and had two RBIs in a four-run ninth inning and the visiting Lancers edged the Bulldogs in the first game of a doubleheader. Kaitlyn Eslick homered in the seventh inning for Kettle Falls to send it to extras. Jocelyn Glover struck out 10 for the Bulldogs.

Liberty 5, Kettle Falls 3: Emma Holwegner singled in the go-head run in the top of the seventh and the visiting Lancers swept the Bulldogs. Ali Trenkle tied it for Kettle Falls in the fifth inning with a two-run home run.

Northwest Christian 10, Davenport 0: Jordan Rabe hit two home runs and the Crusaders (10-1, 6-0) beat the visiting Gorillas (4-6, 2-3) in the first game of a doubleheader. Chloe Rainbow and Alison Shaler each went 3 for 3 for Northwest Christian. Shaler allowed one hit in a complete game.

Northwest Christian 13, Davenport 3: Ellie Sander went 3 for 5 with a double, an RBI and two runs and the Crusaders (11-1, 7-0) swept the visiting Gorillas (4-7, 2-3).

Colfax 12, Tekoa-Rosalia 0: Jorja Koerner struck out six in a complete game three-hitter and the Bulldogs beat the Timberwolves in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Colfax 11, Tekoa-Rosalia 1: Perry Imler had three hits and four RBIs and the Bulldogs swept the Timberwolves.

Northeast 1B

Inchelium 10, Curlew 3: Cloey Simpson had three hits including a pair of doubles and the Hornets (3-2) topped the visiting Cougars (1-4) in the first game of a doubleheader. Meika Heath held Curlew to two hits and struck out seven in a complete game.

Curlew 4, Inchelium 2: Korin Baker struck out six and the visiting Cougars (2-4) downed the Hornets (3-3) in the second game. Taylor Ringstad had two hits for Curlew.

Idaho

Lake City 15, Coeur d’Alene 5: Reilly Chapman went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Jalyssa Beamer went 2 for 3 with four RBIs and the Timberwolves (7-0) beat the visiting Vikings (4-3) in the first game of a doubleheader.

Lake City 11, Coeur d’Alene 0: Ashley Kaufman struck out nine over five scoreless innings, Emma Gray went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and the Timberwolves (8-0) swept the visiting Vikings (4-4). Kaufman went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run for Lake City.

Timberlake 12, Bonners Ferry 0: Becca Malloy struck out 10 over five one-hit innings and the Tigers (7-0) beat the visiting Badgers (0-7) in the first game of a doubleheader. Maddy Salois went 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs for Timberlake.

Timberlake 15 Bonners Ferry 1: Bernie Carhart struck out nine in a complete game three-hitter and the Tigers (8-0) swept the visiting Badgers (0-8). Lily Carhart went 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs and Kyndal Lindley drove in three for Timberlake.

St. Maries 21, Kamiah 1: Madison Cordell had three RBIs with a double and the Lumberjacks (3-4) beat the Kubs (0-5) in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader at Moscow HS on Tuesday.

St. Maries 13, Kamiah 8: Elizabeth Ragan had three runs on a triple and a double and the Lumberjacks (4-4) swept the Kubs (0-6).
