Gonzaga, the West Coast Conference preseason favorite, is back on top after a relatively slow start.

But it’s not alone.

The Bulldogs (20-17, 12-6 WCC), San Francisco (23-17, 12-6) and Loyola Marymount (24-16, 12-6) are all locked atop the WCC with four weeks left in the regular season.

Gonzaga can separate itself from at least one of those teams this weekend.

The Bulldogs host the Dons in a three-game series that begins Friday at 7 p.m. at Patterson Baseball Complex.

Gonzaga has won seven of its last 10 games and nearly took down third-ranked Stanford on the road Monday.

The Cardinal used a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning to down the Bulldogs 11-10.

Troy Johnston, who ranks third in the country in doubles (20), is on a nine-game hitting streak for Gonzaga.
