Motorcyclist dies in crash near Moses Lake

A 51-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday morning after crashing into a pickup truck near Moses Lake.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said Jackie Baker was riding his motorcycle south on Stratford Road N.E. when he collided with a Dodge pickup driven by 28-year-old Moises Valle, who was attempting to make a left turn onto Road 7 N.E.

Baker, who was wearing a Department of Transportation-approved helmet, died at the scene. Valle was not injured, was wearing his seatbelt and was not impaired, the sheriff’s office said.

Excessive speed did not appear to be a factor in the collision, the sheriff’s office said.
