Man’s body pulled from Spokane River north of Greenacres Thursday afternoon
Spokane County sheriff’s deputies on Thursday pulled a man’s body from the Spokane River near Barker Road.
The man was discovered late Thursday afternoon by a swimmer who observed the body “under several feet of water in the middle of the river,” wrote Cpl. Mark Gregory, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, in a news release.
A sheriff’s office dive team recovered the body shortly after.
While the man’s identity has not been released, Gregory said detectives are working to determine if the body is that of 49-year-old Todd A. Jacobson, who was reported missing earlier this week. He was last seen Tuesday.
Jacobson, according to a news release, was reportedly suicidal. His residence is less than half a mile from where the body was discovered.
