U.S. Marshals arrest man accused of shooting police officer in Prosser
U.S. Marshals arrested a 19-year-old for allegedly shooting a Prosser police officer and a bystander in Prosser on Monday.
The suspect, Isaiah Colley, was arrested in Centralia, in the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Colley is facing a first-degree assault charge, according to the news release.
Richland police and U.S. Marshals also arrested a second suspect in the shooting, Abdiel Vargas, in Pasco.
The injuries to the two victims were not life-threatening, according to a news release from the Prosser Police Department.
The officer was responding to the 200 block of Canyon Drive in Proser for a report that individuals were attempting to break into two apartments.
The officer found Colley in the parking lot of the apartment complex, according to the news release. Colley fled, and the officer chased him before Colley allegedly shot him in the leg.
