Avista restored power Tuesday to thousands of customers in Spokane Valley and Coeur d’Alene who experienced outages Monday and Tuesday.
Nearly 12,000 customers in Coeur d’Alene lost power Monday evening, according to an Avista statement.
Those outages were due to the failure of a surge protector at a substation off of 15th Street. The equipment was fixed and power was restored just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
A downed power line in north Spokane Valley left 2,186 residents without power Tuesday afternoon. The outage area extended from Plante’s Ferry Sports Complex along East Trent Avenue to the east. Power was completely restored at 3:45 p.m.
