Something’s run a-fowl – it’s the Great Chicken Sandwich Feud!

I woke up this morning thinking about – and even smelling … OK, not really – chicken sandwiches because the Twitter-verse has run a-fowl – get it? – over the Great Chicken Sandwich Feud.

The sources of my chicken sandwich cravings … I mean thoughts … on this Hump Day morning: Mashable and CNN. Thanks a lot, peeps.

So here’s the coop, er, scoop: Fast-food firms are firing on all cylinders via Twitter that they have the fiercest (mostly fried) chicken sandwiches. Who’s weighed in so far?

Well, it started when Popeyes recently released its first-ever chicken sandwich and poked fun at Chick-fil-A’s self-adoration. Then Wendy’s entered the tray and dissed Popeyes and Chick-fil-A.

So much drama – loves it! Also entering the feisty fryer: Boston Market and Shake Shack (a favorite spot, for many reasons, in my previous home of Las Vegas, baby).

Mashable goes so far as to even declare a winner (and calls out Chick-fil-A for its homophobia).

What’s the best chicken sandwich in Spokane? Please email me your selection(s) – donc@spokesman.com – and I’ll post the results. Unless nobody responds – then I won’t. Get on it now – bock, bock!

(And I’m a little mad that I’m thinking about chicken sandwiches right now, but I’ll get over it.)
