Spokane police seek Saturday morning armed robbery suspect

From staff reports

Police are looking for a man who robbed a north Spokane Walgreens at gunpoint Saturday morning.

A man entered the Walgreens on East Wellesley Avenue around 10:40 a.m. and spent a few minutes collecting items from the store before he walked up to a store clerk, asked for the money in the register and pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the employee, according to Spokane police.

The clerk gave the man the money, and he left the store heading northwest with two fragrance sets, according to police. A police dog was not able to locate him.

The suspect is described as a 140- to 150-pound white man standing 5-feet-6-inches to 5-feet-8-inches tall with a long brown beard and blue eyes, according to police. He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with a large yellow and white “87” on the chest, blue jeans and dark shoes. His pistol was black and silver.
