Protecting our republic

President Trump pressured Ukraine’s newly elected President Zelensky to announce a sham investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden and to give validity to the conspiracy theory put forth by Vladimir Putin that it was Ukraine who interfered in the 2016 presidential election and not Russia. It’s Trump’s latest accusation that anyone but Putin interfered in 2016 election.

To invite a foreign country to interfere in the 2020 election is a direct violation of our Constitution and requires that our politicians in Congress do their job, listen to all the factual evidence and then follow the Constitution and impeach him. Anything else would be a violation of their constitutional oath to protect the USA from enemies without and within.

Other issues that people may like about President Trump are truly irrelevant when faced with his repeated recent invitations of Ukraine and also China to investigate his political rival, Joe Biden and son, Hunter. If Hunter Biden being on the board of Barisma looks bad, so be it. Trump should have asked the DOJ and/or the FBI to investigate, but to allow Trump to invite a foreign country to interfere in the 2020 election greatly risks destroying our republic.
