An 85-year-old Kalispell man has died following a Thursday collision on U.S. Highway 95 between Coeur d’Alene and Worley, Idaho.

The Idaho State Police said James Leslie was northbound on U.S. 95 but traveling in the southbound lanes between Coeur d’Alene and Worley at about 6:47 a.m. Thursday.

“After several other vehicles attempted to warn Leslie, a head-on collision occurred with his vehicle and a loaded 1995 Kenworth logging truck,” according to the Idaho State Police news release.

The truck’s driver, Robert Henson, 49, of Troy, Montana, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Emergency personnel transported Leslie, who was driving a 2001 Toyota Avalon, to Kootenai Health, where he died Sunday.

As a result of the head-on collision, U.S. 95 was blocked for about two hours. Leslie’s family was notified, according to the release.
