Area men’s basketball: North Idaho defeats Treasure Valley for 11th straight win

Nate Pryor tallied 28 points and seven assists, Alphonso Anderson scored 26 and North Idaho defeated Treasure Valley 97-89 in Ontario, Oregon, on Saturday.

Jarod Greene added 12 points and 13 assists, while RayQuan Evans also scored 12 for the Cardinals (20-2, 9-0 NWAC), who won their 11th straight game. NIC shot 56.7 percent (38 of 67) from the field and outrebounded the Chukars 49-26.

Carson Bischoff led Treasure Valley (8-12, 6-4) with 22 points. Kaleo Pogue added 16 points and Dajon Howe had 15 points and eight assists for the Chukars, who hung with NIC after losing the teams’ first matchup 123-77 on Jan. 5.

The Cardinals return to action Wednesday when they host Big Bend.

Big Bend 92, CC Spokane 88: Seraphin Decker notched 35 points as the Vikings (15-6, 5-5 NWAC) edged the Sasquatch (16-7, 7-3) in Moses Lake.

Koby Huerta added 26 points and Miles Brown totaled 17 points and 13 rebounds for Big Bend, which won its third consecutive game.

Isaiah Gotell paced CCS with 17 points. Garrett White added 15 points and 10 rebounds, Asher Cox also scored 15, and Anthony Parker tallied 14 points and five assists.

The Sasquatch were hurt by foul trouble, as Gotell, White and Parker all fouled out. Big Bend attempted 36 free throws, making 32.

CCS travels to Walla Walla on Wednesday.
