Sentinel’s Rylan Ortt Commits to Montana State Football
Missoula Sentinel’s Rylan Ortt announced on twitter Sunday night that he has committed to play college football at Montana State.
Ortt was a standout senior quarterback and safety for the Spartans and he will play on the defensive side of the ball for MSU. As Sentinel’s starting QB in 2018, Ortt threw for 2,098 yards and 18 touchdowns while completing 64% of his passes. On the ground the dual threat added an additional 738 yards rushing with 14 more scores.
Ortt says the Montana Grizzlies also had interest but that UM was waiting until after spring ball before offering him anything official. So Ortt decided to take a prefferred walk on spot in Bozeman.
“It’s really cool… I’ve worked hard my whole life to do this, it’s been my dream,” said Ortt. “For it to finally come to fruition means everything to me. I’m super excited. It’s a great school, great town and the football program is on the rise right now. They’re nationally ranked in the FCS so that’s huge, it should be fun.”
Ortt was a first team all-state selection in football and also excels at track and field in the spring, taking second place in javelin at the state meet last year.
