Area roundup: Sasquatch women fend off Warriors 77-65

Shania Graham sank six 3-pointers and scored 22 points and the visiting CC Spokane Sasquatch turned back the Walla Walla Warriors 77-65 in NWAC play.

Marissa Blair and Makenna Grier both hit two 3-pointers for the Sasquatch (18-7, 5-6), who sank half of their 26 shots from beyond the arc. Koyoma Young added 13 points and Jessica Olson pitched in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Jessica Cheney scored 15 to top the Warriors (16-8, 6-5).

Big Bend 78, North Idaho 58: The visiting Vikings (21-4, 10-2) cruised past the Cardinals (16-7, 6-5) in NWAC play.

Men’s basketball

Jake Albright scored 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting and he added 16 rebounds and six assists to power the Walla Walla Warriors (15-9, 9-2) to an 81-69 victory over the visiting CC Spokane Sasquatch (16-8, 7-4) in NWAC play.

Dedrick Pakootas knocked down 6 of 10 from 3-point range and scored a game-high 28 points for CCS. Asher Cox added 11 points off the bench.

North Idaho 114, Big Bend 80: The Cardinals (21-2, 10-0) rolled to a victory over the visiting Vikings (15-7, 5-6) in NWAC action.
