Boys basketball: Micah Holmes helps Lakeside advance in 1A tourney

Micah Holmes scored 14 points, Jack Humphrey added 11 and Lakeside (14-7) beat visiting Colville (3-17) 65-45 in a District 7 1A first round game on Wednesday.
Jacob Lindquist led Colville with 18 points.
Lakeside plays Newport in a semifinal on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Medical Lake 68, Freeman 56: Garren Garza scored 18 points and the visiting Cardinals (8-13) beat the Scotties (9-12).
Kaleb Ohler led Freeman with 13 points. Alex Stith had 15, Samuel Gollehon 13 and Jordan Petersen 11 for Medical Lake.
Medical Lake plays No. 1 seed Deer Park in a semifinal on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
District 7 1B first round
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 69, Curlew 15: Hayden Loomis scored 19 points and the Warriors (17-3) beat the visiting Cougars (3-14).
Brayton Schafer added 14 points and Maguire Isaak had 10 for Almira/Coulee-Hartline. Josh Wright led Curlew with six points.
ACH faces Selkirk in a semifinal on Saturday while Curlew plays Wellpinit in a loser-out.
Selkirk 71, Wellpinit 59: Ryan Zimmerman scored 23 points and the Rangers (13-8) used a huge fourth quarter rush to deny the visiting Redskins (9-11).
Selkirk outscored Wellpinit 26-6 in the final frame. Justin Krabbenhoft added 17 points and Thomas Huttle 12 for Selkirk. Steven Ford scored 20 points and Kobe Stearns 17 for Wellpinit.
Odessa 98, Inchelium 49: Ryan Moffet scored 38 points, Marcus King added 19 points with 12 rebounds and the Tigers (19-1) beat the visiting Hornets (12-9).
Moffet added seven rebounds, seven assists and seven steals. Brenton Swan led Inchelium with 16 points.
Odessa faces Cusick in a semifinal on Saturday, while Inchelium plays Valley Christian in a loser-out.
Cusick 59, Valley Christian 42: Celias Holmes scored 15 points and Cusick (15-5) pulled away from visiting Valley Christian (8-12).
Devin BrownEagle, Ethan Hardie and Colton Seymour scored 11 points apiece for Cusick. Sam Reece led Valley Christian with 14 points.
