Prep basketball: Pullman boys, Clarkston girls advance to 2A title games

Jacob Wells scored 26 points and No. 4-ranked Pullman eliminated West Valley 71-52 in the District 7 2A semifinal at University HS on Saturday.

Pullman (18-4) plays at No. 9 Clarkston (13-7) in the district title game on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Ethan Kramer scored 14 points, Konnor Kinkade added 12 and Tim Watts had 11 for the Hounds.

Nick Drynan led West Valley (14-8) with 16 points, Bryan Andrews added 11 and Jackson Keizer had 10.

District 9 1B at Colfax HS

Garfield-Palouse 51, Pomeroy 39: Blake Jones scored 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had three steals and the Vikings (14-7) defeated the visiting Pirates (8-11) in a first-round game.

Garfield-Palouse advances to the district title game on Wednesday.

The other first-round game, Prescott at Oakesdale, was postponed until Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Girls

Clarkston 53, West Valley 40: Great Northern League MVP Ashlyn Wallace scored 18 points and the Bantams (20-2), ranked No. 7 in state 2A, beat the Eagles (12-10) in a District 7 2A semifinal at University HS on Saturday.

Clarkston advances to the district title game against No. 1 East Valley (18-2) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at East Valley HS.

Mickayla Jackson scored 11 points and Lauren Johnson added 10 for Clarkston. Jillian Taylor led West Valley with 13 points.

Idaho

Meridian 56, Post Falls 39: The Warriors (14-12) eliminated the Trojans (7-18) in an Idaho 5A state play-in game at Grangeville HS.
