Crash on SR-291 northwest of Spokane blocks both lanes
Washington State Patrol has shut down State Route 291 about 2 miles northwest of Spokane due to a two-vehicle crash that seriously injured at least one person, according to a news release from WSP.
The crash was reported at 6:13 p.m. and both lanes remained closed as of 9 p.m. It is unknown when the road will reopen.
WSP Trooper Jeff Sevigney tweeted that the driver who allegedly caused the crash suffered life-threatening injures and the other driver has injuries that are not life-threatening. Both were transported to an area hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
